You can now enjoy a full-day tour that will take you to places not usually visited on other excursions, and one you are sure to remember forever.

This route combines several ingredients: a gentle hike through a forest where even some TV series have been filmed, a traditional and homemade meal with Eufrosina, one of the women who have made their mark in the island’s wine-making world. And finally, the chance to get that highly sought-after photo at Porís de Candelaria, a small, hidden gem that the residents of Tijarafe have shaped by making use of the existing caves.

We’ll begin with a bus ride from the east to the north of the island, arriving in the municipality of Garafía. There, in La Zarza, our hike begins, a walk of approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) over about two hours. We’ll stroll among slender heather trees and the sounds of birds, which will transport us into a fairy tale. Along the way, we’ll discover some engravings left by our first inhabitants, the impressive Caldera del Agua, and of course, one of the reasons why La Palma is called “la bonita” (the beautiful one). We will conclude the hiking portion of this excursion upon our arrival at the well-known Plaza del Gallo.

Next, we’ll take the bus to Eufrosina’s Wineries. This is not only a stop for lunch but also a chance to delight in the privileged surroundings of this place that they care for and protect so lovingly. An alternative lunch spot may be the restaurant Pino de La Virgen.

Afterward, we will head towards the coast of the municipality of Tijarafe. After a descent on a road that will leave you speechless and on which our drivers can demonstrate their skill at the wheel, we’ll arrive at the parking lot. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk on a paved path to reach El Porís, a charming corner bathed by the Atlantic. The light in the area creates a peaceful space that will make you fall in love. It is a true treasure for both locals and visitors. Finally, we’ll return to the eastern side of the island, but not before enjoying the best views of the Aridane Valley from the El Time viewpoint.
